Despina graduated from FOCUS School of Photography and Visual Arts in Athens in 2001.
She has collaborated with institutions such as the Onassis Cultural Centre, the New Museum of Acropolis, the National Archaeological Museum, the Hellenic Festival; with Element Pictures, Sony Pictures Classics, Faliro House, Belga Films, Blackbird Production, Haos Film, Bob Studio, Movielab, Spot Thomson, K2 Design Office, among others.
She has worked as a set photographer for Vasilis Kekatos’ new film (post production), German mini series Herrhausen (2023), French TV series L’Opéra (2022), Argyris Papadimitropoulos’ Monday (2020), Steve Krikris’ The Waiter (2018), Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Lobster (2015), Stefanos Tsivopoulos’ History Zero (2014), Richard Linklater’s film Before Midnight (2013), Athina Rachel Tsangari’s films Chevalier (2015), 24 Frames per Century (2013), The Capsule (2012), and Attenberg (2010). She was also a part of “Isolario” project for Media dell’ Arte, a project that gave her intimate access to a few small vanishing insular worlds in Greece. She often wonders what’s the use of taking pictures of everything, but she can’t help it. Despina lives and works between Brussels and Athens as a freelance photographer.
